Letter to Sponsors
July 20, 2012
Dear Current & Prospective Sponsor:
When Living Hope International started the sponsorship program, we had very little knowledge of the true cost of running an orphanage. Now, LHI has a few years of expenses to look back on, and this has provided us with information we like to share. At LHI, we actually take guardianship of each orphaned child, They are our children totally and we take care of every need they have.
Our budgetary information has shown us that the true cost for each child is $150 a month. The $150 covers housing, food, schooling (fees, books & uniforms), clothing, utilities and medical. The $150 does not cover any administrative or building cost. Those costs are being covered by special fund raisers, like our LHI golf outing, the play that is put on by the OPC Players, the 5K Run for a Future and other donations.
Two other worthy organizations charge between $35 and $38 per month and both do good work. They take care of the community through different programs not the individual children. They provide food, clean water, medical care, education opportunity as well as some other things. Many of the children are not orphaned and have family they live with.
I hope this will answer all your questions and that you feel lead to make a financial donation to Living Hope International. Please let me know if you have another questions.
