Lee Davis, President

Lee Davis has spent his career in the automotive industry. He has held a variety of positions with companies; such as, Navistar, Clark Equipment and TREMEC. His most recent assignment was Global Vice President Sales & Marketing for TREMEC. During his career Lee has traveled the world extensively gaining a vast appreciation for other cultures and customs. He is a member of the Board of Directors of TREMEC’s India joint venture.

Lee holds a BA from Purdue University (1974) and speaks English and Spanish. He is also a Vietnam veteran having served in the U S Navy.

Lee and his wife, Trina, have four children. Trina also sets on the Board of Living Hope International. Lee is a member of Oak Pointe Church of Novi, MI and has been involved with children’s ministries and short term missions for thirty plus years. Lee’s first trip to Zambia was in 2006 when he accompanied his wife and their two daughters. Lee has been the President of Living Hope International since its inception in 2008 and is also a member of the Living Hope Zambian Board of Directors.

Trina Davis, Vice President

Trina Davis has been involved in the world of fashion from a young age working at her aunt’s fabric shop. Trina attended Morehead State University where she majored in fashion design. She worked for Marshall Field’s and Liz Claiborne of New York before starting her own CAbi clothing business.

Although fashion is important her real passion is children. Trina was on the first Oak Pointe Church mission trip to Zambia in 2001 and has not failed to return every year since. Trina was instrumental in starting the first orphanage in 2003 that later became Living Hope International in 2008.

Trina heads up the orphan sponsor program that insures that our children are loved, nurtured and educated. She is also active with  the Oak Pointe women’s Gracetoration program. Trina and her husband, Lee, have four children and reside in Novi, MI where they attend Oak Pointe Church.

Dr. Daniel Urbine, Medical

Dr. Dan Urbine is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL and an attending physician at Shands Hospital.  He completed an internal medicine residency and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical/intensive care medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI.  Dr. Urbine’s interest in international health and medical mission work are a product of his early medical training and his Christian faith.  He attended medical school at Ben Gurion University in Israel and spent 2 months during his fourth year of medical school working in Kenya.  He has led three medical teams on mission trips from Oak Pointe Church in Novi, MI to rural villages in Zambia.

Prior to his medical career, Dr. Urbine spent 6 years in the US Navy.  As a Civil Engineer Corps Officer, he was a Company Commander with the Navy Seabees  (Mobile Construction Battalions) while deployed to Puerto Rico and South Korea.  He also served as the environmental officer and assistant public works officer at the Camp David Presidential Retreat in Thurmont, MD.  He currently serves in the US military as a reserve officer in the Air Force Critical  Care Air Transport Teams.

Prior to his career in the US Navy, Dr. Urbine attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN after winning a 4-year  Navy ROTC scholarship.  He graduated from Vanderbilt with a degree in electrical engineering in 1992.

Dr. Urbine is originally from Savannah, GA. He has travelled to more than 30 countries. He lives with his wife, Jennie and three children in Gainesville, FL.

Daryl Rice, Pastoral

Daryl Rice is the Executive Pastor of Business and Operations at Oak Pointe Church in Novi, MI. He has been on the staff of OPC for 6 years and was one of the original founding families of the Church at its inception in 1997. Daryl & his wife Nancy have a heart for Africa and its people and were on the original exploratory team from OPC as the church investigated their involvement with the country of Zambia. Daryl also serves as the Executive Team member of OPC working with Living Hope International.

Prior to OPC , Daryl was the Executive Pastor at Harvest Bible Chapel for 5 years in Rolling Meadows Ill where he ran the operations of the church and managed 5 other expansion projects to build 2 Christian School campuses, a satellite Church in Elgin, a Christian Camp in Croton MI and expansion of the Rolling Meadows campus.
Prior to moving to Illinois, Daryl worked for 20+ years in Michigan for the High Tech Industry for Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq Computers , & R.L.Polk Company.

Daryl has been married to Nancy for 35 years and they have 4 adult boys and 4 grandsons. Daryl has his Bachelors Degree from Michigan State University and currently lives in Northville, MI.

Kim D. Cooke, Financial

Kim Cooke, age 57, founded Blue Water Capital, L.L.C., a private venture capital firm, in 1995 and today serves as its Chairman and Managing Director. Blue Water Capital raised and managed close to $100 million in capital for investment in the technology sector. Mr. Cooke received his JD from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University, and his LLM from the American University Washington College of Law, with Highest Honors. Trained as a transactional lawyer, Mr. Cooke has extensive business and legal experience working with credit, financial services and technology companies in the United States, AMEA and Latin America. Mr. Cooke has served on numerous corporate boards in his capacity at Blue Water Capital, including EasyLink Services, Inc., a public company where he was Chairman, FedBid, Inc., Company.com, Access Point Communications, Inc., Renaps Technology, Inc., and Keel Point, LLC. His not for profit activities include service on the Board of Living Hope, International, Family Life, The Northville Educational Foundation, and, as President of the Northville High School Men’s Lacrosse Club. He and his wife of 30 years Kathy live with their three sons in Northville, MI.

Christine Farrell, Treasurer

Christine Farrell, born in 1970, resides in Northville with her husband, Mike and two children Addie and Mick and attends OakPointe Church. Chris is very involved in various Northville school and athletic programs. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 1992. After a 10 year sales career, she chose to be a stay-at-home mom getting involved in many school committees and activities. Chris was the Treasurer for the Moraine Elementary School PTA from 2008–2010. In 2006, Chris started Windows by Design, LLC, which is a custom window treatment company that she currently owns and operates.

After meeting Trina, Chris’ heart for the children in Africa moved her to become more active with Living Hope International. Chris has been actively involved with LHI since 2008 and took over the role of Treasurer in 2009. She prays that LHI gives all its current and future children a safe, healthy and Christian place to call home.
